I witnessed the professional care my cousin received at American Village. The staff members, without exception, were always pleasant and helpful to family members and friends when they visited during the 3+ months she was there. Most importantly, they were attentive to my cousin's needs and took care of them in a respectful way, allowing her to maintain her dignity. They never talked down to her. Of course, she was the sort of person who always treated others, including the staff at American Village, with respect and appreciation. On being discharged, she left with cards and other small mementos from the staff.
