My mother went there for rehabilitation but instead backfired because they were giving her the wrong medicine the whole time. She ended up retaining fluid more and her gout also ended up flaring up to the point where she was in excruciating pain. But not only did they give her the wrong medicine but when she told them that she was not feeling well, she couldn't breathe, and had a lot of pain in her lower back knees and hand. They didn't call the hospital. They just took her vitals and said she was fine. I ended up having to call the ambulance from at home. Afterward they decided to call me and say they saw no bad signs of my mother having any difficulty breathing and that the only reason she had that problem was because she did not want to complete rehab. That is such a shot out snobby way to keep someone in your facility. Now I know you're probably wondering why I actually gave them to Stars instead of one because of all of this negativity. My mom actually didn't want to leave because they have super great food. But other than that the service was horrible. She practically cried because they didn't come into her room at times she needed to go to the bathroom. They would take up to an hour or more just for her to go to the bathroom. I had to start calling up there to let them know my mother had to go to the bathroom can you go to her room. No one should have to go through that at all. But I wouldn't recommend going there just because they have good food. The service is not that good.

My mother was at this facility for 5 nights. The place was a nightmare. She waited for an hour for someone to come help her use the bathroom because her call bell was broken. When they couldn't fix it, they told her to use her cell phone to call the nurses desk. When she called the nurses desk, someone told her to hold on because they were on the phone. They put my mother in a diaper when she is fully capable of using the bathroom with assistance. The nurses were very rude. The staff was play "fighting" in the hall way and taking video of it on their phone. The staff was so loud at night my mother could never get a good nights rest. The rooms are so outdated as well as all of their equipment as well as the beds. The remote for the bed to adjust was very very dirty. There were no paper towels to wipe your hands in the bathroom because that was broken too. I fell bad for anyone who is in there and cannot speak up for themselves while I was there I witnessed who cruel these people can be to the patients. I wouldn't send my worst enemy here. This place should truly be investigated. Please if you love someone do not send them here!

I work for a physician's office that treats patients at this facility so I have first-hand experience with the Bala staff. Let me say that I have yet to speak to one Bala employee with a courtious or professional demeanor. It is hard to believe that Bala is a facility that treats the most fragile and vulnerable of our community considering their employees are rude, discourteous and ineffective. Bala Nursing would be the absolute LAST place I would recommend an enemy to be placed, let alone a loved one. From management to medical assistants, every staff member that answers the phone has exhibited a genuine lack of enthusiasm for their work and how they represent the organization. Do yourself a favor and send your loved ones elsewhere.

Whilst I dont have any idea what kind of service this centre brings I would like to say a word of warning to anyone considering this home who is a member of or has relatives who are members of the LGBT community.A member of their staff, Rochelle Hairston who works in admissions and marketing is well known for her bigoted postings all over facebook concerning the LGBT community and I for one would not trust anyone to be under her care who is.I would not trust my beloved elders with someone so familiar with hate speech and such bigoted views. Whilst we all support a persons right to free speech, her kind of hatred goes beyond the pale and one wonders how she applies this to policy and marketing of the centre.Iam in the process contacting the centre to ask about their policy regarding LGBT visitors and will ask that they investigate this woman. Will post updates.
