My stepfather is in the facility, and he's very happy here. This is a huge note, because my stepfather is a grouchy old cuss not to put too fine a point on it, and he's not by nature a happy person. So when he told me that he's happier here than he's ever been anywhere else in his life, this is a HUGE deal. Since coming to this facility, he has lost weight (he needed to), gained strength, and stop having to take insulin to manage his diabetes because his food is being carefully controlled. The staff contacts me whenever he has the slightest incident, like a minor tumble or a bout of illness, and they're very responsive. I am very grateful to the good staff here and I recommend this place to others I know with aging family.
My husband and I put on cars shows for Life Care Centers and nursing homes. We put on a car show for Holly Heights in June, and I can honestly say, this was one of the most enjoyable shows we have put on over the years! The residents participated in music and dance, everyone had a great time in spite of the high temps!! Thank you for allowing us to serve you! Car Shows to Go
I took my mom out of this nursing home two and a half years ago. She had severe constipation and bloody stools from the food. The nurse told me it was normal because she's in a wheelchair and doesn't get enough exercise. But since she's been home with me, and on a regular diet, she has not had ANY bloody stools, occasional mild constipation, and I don't give her stool softners! That's why I'm writing this review so much later. I wanted to know it was their food that was causing her digestion problems. And now her skin even looks better. I literally thought my mom was dying with all the blood in her stool!! Also, the CNA's are very lazy about getting her to the bathroom. I can't tell you how many times in six months I would take my mom to the bathroom and she would be soaked down to her wheelchair!! And would have stool in her pull up!! That was my final straw!! Since she's been home with me for 2 and a half years, I can count on one hand how many times she's had stool in her pants!! If they really toilet them every two hours like they say, that shouldn't happen. I only positive thing I could say, is the building was always clean. If they took care of the patients the way they care for the facility, it really would be 5 star!!
Thank you for taking great care of my father.
We recently volunteered for the resident BBQ. It was so well organized. We enjoyed seeing all the smiles from residents, families and staff. It was such a positive experience, from start to finish. It was reminiscent of our large family events. We were especially impressed how everyone was included, and how they catered to meet resident's special needs. It was wonderful to see the level of care shared with everyone. We really enjoyed the day. Priscilla and Michelle
