This place is horrible. I stayed here while recovering from a bad surgery and it was filled with drug usage and selling. It's very ghetto. While staying there someone overdosed on heroin in the back parking lot. She died. She was in her car for 3 days and someone found her and called the cops. All the girls there was constantly trying to sleep with me. My first month there 3 got fired for sexually harassing me. The food is despicable. And the kitchen staff will cuss you out without provocation. The director of nursing is afraid of the nurses and nurses aids. She is white, they is black so she is scared to reprimand them. They can't keep workers, even management is constantly quitting. So enter at your own risk. Take this admonishment to heart.

If I could give minus stars, I would give several for this awful place. My loved one is in this place. All of her family and friends are a1000 plus miles away in Oregon and Calif. This place may have been an okay place at one time but it is no longer a good place at all. You can't even get through on the one phone number that they have for weeks at a time. If you are lucky enough after several attempts ( I am talking about severals days of calling every half hour and listening to ringing, them the phone just going to busy. I am talking about trying all day long for several days to get anyone to answer the phone art all;) If you do get through, you ask for the resident you want to speak with, and they transfer the call where it just rings and rings until a busy single comes on. I would like to know how the owners of this horrible place feel that it is okay for their residents to not hear from family and others to let them know they are not out of sight out of mind? Is it not important that they hear from loved ones so they know they are loved and thought about. How is it that the owners do not feel that this might be important to their residents well being? How is it that it was okay with the owners to not even provide a Special Christmas Dinner for their residents? These people are not supposed to be being punished. But the owners did not even acknowledge Christmas for their residents. And just told them "Sorry, the budget didn't allow for it." How was it okay to have the air conditioner go out in July on a Sunday and Father's Day, where it was 103 degrees outside and 118 degrees inside Ridgway Care Center. Making residents sick? HElllloooo!!! But because it was a Sunday and Father's day, you, the owner's could not be bothered with the situation. How is it; that it was okay? I understand that Ridgway has been sold several times in a one and a half year period. Well sorry, that is no excuse for incompetence, and cruel treatment of fragile and elderly people. Sorry about your stupid budget. Did you realize when you bought this place that you are responsible for the well being of PEOPLE? Sorry about your stupid budget but these PEOPLE need to be able to receive their phone calls. Two months trying to get through there on the phone is bordering on criminal. This is a Convalescent HOSPITAL. Hospitals need phones that someone answers. HELLLLOOO!!! Sorry if it is not in you BUDGET!!! Get a freaking phone system and an operator. That reminds me. Is it even legal to go six months with no Social Worker? There was a good social Worker there AT ONE TIME A COUPLE OF YEARS AGO. But you can't even keep a social worker there for two months. The one that was good, she went to a different job. Probably one where she doesn't have 3 floors of residents all on her, because she was the ONLY Social Worker. Then you hired one to replace her, She lasted a whole six or seven weeks, then she left. You replaced her with another and she lasted a whole three or four weeks. And you just haven't bothered to get another one. Why is that? Your budget not allowing for it?? I think that is bordering on criminal; if not illegal. I m not a care center owner, but It doesn't take but a junior high school education to see the writing on the wall here. Get ONE SOCIAL WORKER FOR EACH FLOOR!!. HELLLOO! DO NOT PUT A LOVED ONE IN THIS PLACE!!! If you care about your loved one, you do not want them here. The nurses are good!! Very overworked. But the Nurses are about the only thing good about this place. Which is good but to me it is not enough. To just have good nurses who are overworked.and taken advantage of, by the owner. it is all bad

I watched my friend suffer in agonizing pain and die. Every time I visited he was moaning and howling in pain. I visited twice a week just to clean the room. It was noisy, dirty, over heated and the staff was very unprofessional. I carried trays of old food and trash out of his room every time I visited. I begged the nurses station to allow the patient to have pain medication, and the responses I received were sneers and eye rolls. I'm really hurt by watching my friend suffer as badly as he did. The dismissive attitude from the obese white woman at the nurses desk was just plain cruel and heartless. I wouldn't allow anyone that I loved to be placed here.
