Let me start by saying that haters will be haters and regardless of the truth they will always find a way to make themselves look and feel better by making others look bad. They will also throw others under the bus to save themselves. Maryland Gardens is under fairly new leadership and the current DON has only been there a few months. I think it's safe to say that she has inherited a mess that cannot be fixed overnight. However, it can and will be fixed by removing the bad seeds before they continue to spread their negative attitudes and resistance to change. Change was definitely needed at Maryland Gardens. As I read some of these reviews, I know many are not truthful and are written by disgruntled current/former employees. Just to address a few: Sunny Arizona - falls are not acceptable or tolerated by the DON or administrator and if a fall does occur in front of her or not it is immediately addressed! Staff are continuously educated on how to be more proactive and prevent falls from occurring. Ebony Hudson - Maryland Gardens wasn't under great leadership before the current administrator or DON arrived but it is now. I'm sorry you can't handle the truth. I'm sure it was difficult for you to now be expected to do your job correctly - what a concept! Shelly Hicks - you were told that "a resident beat another resident and when it was reported to vicki and katie they told the nurse not to write it up" - seriously?? Based on your comment you weren't there and are relying on what someone else told you - let me guess they don't like the current leadership either? I have witnessed an incident where a resident attacked another resident. The DON responded immediately and assisted staff to get the situation under control and the residents evaluated for any injuries. All policies and procedures were followed in a timely manner and the appropriate people/agencies were notified. The police showed up shortly after the incident to take police reports. Change was needed and change for the better is what Maryland Gardens is getting. If you can't handle being expected to do your job correctly or being disciplined when you don't....then leave - go be lazy and uncaring somewhere else because the residents deserve better. Katie and Vicki are the breath of fresh air this place desperately needed. They care about their residents and their staff providing the best care. Things won't always be perfect and there will always be bumps in the road but give them a chance.

DO NOT PUT YOUR LOVED ONES IN HERE!!!! My loved one has lived in this facility for a long while. Ever since they got new management Maryland Gardens has went down hill. The company claims to put the patients first, but then they go and hire a NO GOOD Director Of Nursing! she is very rude to the patients and the family members! I have tried to call the facility hotline, and they were not helpful. It makes me wonder how she treats my family member when I am not there! This use to be a wonderful facility until this DON came along. Windsor does not care about the patients. It has become very evident in the management they hire. I have seen patients fall in front of the DON and she ignores them! I will definitely be getting my loved one out of this facility! Please if you put your loved one in here keep a close eye on them. This DON has no idea what she is doing, and the company doesn't care either. I sat down and read the other reviews on here. It is very alarming that other family members have posted the similar things yet here we are today, and nothing has been done! There was one review that looks as if someone payed an employee to write on behalf of the management. However, they did a poor job. It seems like they try to cover stuff up. May God bless the patients who live here under this DONs Vicki G. care. All the other staff i have come into contact with are very nice.

If you have any love for whomever you are looking to place in this facility please do NOT place them in here. My loved one has been here for a while and recently i went to visit my loved one and over heard the DON telling one of the Cna's to wipe that patients mouth. he looks like a homeless person. i also over herd her referring to one of the patients as a 'paycheck'. I can not believe that. as the DON they are supposed to be a leader an example to others and show that they care for them. very disrespectful. i wonder how she got a job there in the first place... as far as the cnas and nurses they always have a smile and are very friendly.

I heard this place was closed!! Omg! My sis was here short time! Anyone who leaves a family member here.. Shame on you! One incident...they said she had fallen. When I went there...she was covered in bruises and wouldn't talk. The "memory care" unit was unsafe. You can't lock apt.doors and ppl would just walk in, take my sister's food, Smear poop on the walls...many were violent. Worse than a prison, at least the inmates there can lock their cells...

First of all if i could give this place a zero rating i would but unfortunately that is not one of the options, I am former employee of this wretched place, The administrator and the director of nursing are both heartless individuals. They both only care about the money that they make off of the residents. there has been so many physical altercations that has taken place between residents that vicki and katie have covered up so that they wont get any deficiencies against their licenses, i was told that a resident beat another resident and when it was reported to vicki and katie they told the nurse on duty not to write it up and forced the aides to say that nothing happened . then we had a resident report that he had been beaten by an aide that too was covered up. the aide was not taken off the floor and no investigation was done.Maryland Gardens used to be a great place to work but not now.Katie was bad enough by herself but with vicki on board its like having the piglet {katie} and the big bad wolf{vicki}. I wouldn't take my dog to maryland gardens to be and taken care of.The general staff are great but the administrator and the director of nursing really need to go,So if you are looking for a place for a loved one and you really love your family don't take them to Maryland Gardens vicki and katie will charm you to get their hands on your loved one but once they are in it is all about the money
